Before EPIC FAMILIES:
WHAT WILL BE WITH
OUR CHILDREN?

As the Anglo community blossomed in Yerushalayim, Beit Shemesh, and other parts of Israel, new services and living conveniences sprang up to accommodate them.

Moving to Israel was becoming a more achievable reality – but a vital service was missing.

One group was falling far behind:
The children.

The new, unfamiliar culture can cause a young Oleh to feel confused, overwhelmed, and alone.

Add a recent parental divorce or social, emotional, or academic challenge on top of that —

You’re left with an entire group of kids who were falling through the cracks.

The Gaon Harav Moshe Shapiro ZT”L, renowned Torah leader, took note of the Anglo community’s plight. As a great visionary, Rabbi Shapiro charged Rabbi Goodman with filling this missing niche.

Our story so far

2004

LAUNCH OF YEDIDIM

Rabbi Goodman has seen and experienced the transformative power a mentor has on a child’s life, firsthand. Therefore, he was the perfect candidate to spearhead Yedidim.

Mentoring children and teens, it wasn’t long before Yedidim earned the trust of the Anglo community and the Israeli school system. This trust enabled Yedidim to become the bridge between them.

2013

PARENTAL GUIDANCE CENTER

For some kids, mentoring alone just wasn’t enough. Yedidim realized the need to partner up with the most important people in children’s lives: Their parents.

To this end, Yedidim added parental support services — such as workshops, seminars, and support groups — to guide parents throughout their child-rearing journey.

2014

CHINUCH WEEKEND RETREATS

Anglo parents had a need to belong to a cohesive community–and Yedidim stepped up to fill that need with their chinuch weekend retreats.

The Chinuch weekend retreat — an interactive and diverse parenting program run by educational experts — gives participants a Shabbos to recharge and rededicate themselves to becoming better parents.

2019

YEDIDIM GOES INTERNATIONAL

Now, parents around the world gain from our program with the launch of online parenting webinars and virtual workshops.

The incredible success of Chinuch weekend retreats prompted Yedidim to bring a similar program to the US, which was named Chinuch of Today.
